The Lite Gait is a body weight supported gait therapy (BWS-GT) device, the first of its kind in Waco that simultaneously controls weight bearing, posture, and balance over a treadmill or over ground. It creates an ideal environment for treating patients with a wide range of impairments and functional levels. Lite Gait provides proper posture, reduces weight bearing, eliminates concerns for balance, and facilitates the training of coordinated leg movement. Its unique harness design not allows progressive and safe weight bearing from non to full weight bearing, but also allows the therapist to manually assist the legs and pelvis to achieve proper gait patterns.

The Lite Gait has been demonstrated as an effective means for improving walking for patients with a variety of neurological conditions. Evidence has emerged showing significant results with pediatric patients, particularly with cerebral palsy. Many therapists have found that the use of a BWS-GT device will speed gains in functional walking of their patients in a safe and efficient environment. It has also been shown to improve speed of gait as well as independence.
