Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. It is considered an evidence-based treatment for people with autism. The methods of behavior analysis have been used and studied for decades. They have helped many kinds of learners gain different skills. ABA helps us understand how the behavior works, how the behavior is affected by the environment, and how to implement the best interventions to promote learning. With ABA we can increase communication, improve tolerance, and decrease problem behaviors.
At Hope and Believe we use ABA to increase an individual’s positive interactions with their environment through positive reinforcement and evidenced-based interventions. Our interventions are flexible and are adapted to meet the needs of each individual person. The goal of any ABA program is to help each person work on skills that will help them become more independent and successful in the short term as well as in the future.
